Unit Citation

On January 16, 2016 Yeadon Fire Engine Co. 16 and Darby Fire Engine Co. 4, showed an outstanding amount of bravery and team work, rescuing one adult female from her burning apartment building. Arriving companies encountered heavy smoke conditions on the second floor of a three story apartment building and safely removed the trapped occupant from the third floor. The Borough of Yeadon awarded the Fire Companies with a Unit Citation during the March 17, 2016 Legislative meeting to express the appreciation the Borough has for their dedication.


2016 Budget Approved

The Borough of Yeadon’s 2016 budget has been approved and posted for download on the borough website. The 2016 Budget presents no increase in taxes or fees and lowers the sewer fee $1.00 per thousand gallons of water used.


Honoring Mark Hudson

Mark Hudson, a volunteer Yeadon fireman and Darby Borough Police Officer, had his life tragically ended in April. In his memory a scholarship fund has been established. Please see the attached flyer with information on the scholarship fund.


A/Sgt. Daniel Criswell: 25 Years of Service

Yeadon Police Chief Donald Molineux and Yeadon Borough wish to extend sincere congratulations to A/Sgt. Daniel Criswell for achieving 25 years of dedicated service to the community. Best wishes to Dan!


New Full-Time Officer

new officer stephensOfficer Phillip Stephens is sworn in as a full-time Yeadon Patrolman by Mayor Rohan Hepkins during the August 21 meeting of borough council. Officer Stephens was a part-time officer who was hired at the July 23 meeting. Officer Stephens’ son is holding the bible as Police Chief Donald J. September 13, 2014 – Grand Opening Ceremony for New Library Addition
More than 100 guests and local officials celebrated the grand opening of the new addition to the Yeadon Public Library. Senator Anthony Williams along with Representatives Margo Davidson and Ronald Waters attended and gave inspirational remarks on the importance of the library and its role in the community. Library Director Richard Ashby expressed his excitement about the new addition and offered details on the many programs being initiated to serve members of the community of all ages.
