Police Civil Service Examination: Full-Time Police Officer

The Borough of Yeadon is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Applications can be obtained from the Yeadon Borough Police Department located on the first floor of the Yeadon Municipal Building or downloaded. The applications will be available from 12:00 noon Friday, October 4, 2019 through 4:30 pm Friday, November 8, 2019, during regular business hours Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, or online until applications are due to be returned. A non-refundable application-processing fee of $50.00 dollars must accompany the completed application. A check or money order in lieu of cash, must be made payable to the Yeadon Borough Police Department. Applicants will be required to have a thumbprint taken at the time their application is received.

All completed applications must be returned in person no later than 4:30 pm Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Yeadon Borough Police Department. Qualified applicants will be required to participate in a physical agility examination on Saturday, November 16th 2019 at 9:00 am at the Delaware County Community College, 901 S. Media Line Rd, Media, PA 19063. This is a PASS/FAIL physical agility test being handled by the Delaware County Police Academy, with the agility test comprising the standards required for new police recruits to enter the academy.
Once you have successfully passed the agility test, the written examination will take place this same date (November 16, 2019); immediately following the completion of agility testing process, at the DCCC College Campus Police Academy. The test is based on MPOETC Testing, and the room assignment will be announced after the agility testing. Please plan accordingly for this day.
General Requirements:
- At least 21 years of age as of the date of testing November 16, 2019.
- U.S. Citizen, Physically and Mentally Fit.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current Act 120 Certification, or Act 120 certified by date of appointment.
- Possess a Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
