This event has ended

The Delaware River Blues Company K will present a guided tour titled On Consecrated Ground, Mount Moriah and the Civil War featuring the lives of a select few Civil War veterans who are buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery on Sunday, October 27th. The event will run from 11am-4pm. These informative presentations will highlight each soldier, their life prior to the war, and what they experienced.

Living historians from Delaware River Blues Company K will share the lives of each veteran through the early displays of patriotism in 1861, the fading enthusiasm of 1862, the determined resolve of 1863, the horrors of 1864, and the victory and defeat of 1865. The guided tour will discuss the impact the Civil War had on these individual veterans, their families, and the Delaware River Valley as a whole. It is advised to wear comfortable walking shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather.

Mount Moriah is the final resting place for thousands of veterans from many conflicts, including the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam, and others.

A donation of $20 per adult and $10 for students will be accepted to take this informative tour, with proceeds going to the restoration and maintenance of historic Mount Moriah.
