Freedom Day 2026

Yeadon Freedom Day

Celebrating Flag Day, Juneteenth, and America’s 250th Birthday!

Yeadon Borough and the Recreation Committee have combined what was known as the annual Flag Day Celebration with Juneteenth into one special celebration called Freedom Day, taking place on Saturday, June 20th.

This year’s event will feature guest speakers and the flag raising at the circle on Longacre Blvd & Cypress Street, starting at 11:00 am.

Guests there will speak on the founding of this nation, highlight the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. The flag raising will be followed by a parade, schedule to commence at approximately 12:30-1:00 pm and proceeding down Baily Road.

The afternoon segment of the Freedom Day Celebration takes place in Yeadon Community Park, where we will have another flag raising of the Juneteenth Flag. This segment of the program will commemorate the emancipation and freedom of enslaved people here in America, and will feature African dancers, griots, live music, food, vendors, and more.

Finally, at dusk, the day will end at the Rap Curry-Kerr Field Athletic Complex with a fireworks display to take place around 8:30 pm. The entire day is a free admission event and all are invited.
