Standing Committees
The Council of the Borough of Yeadon has seven standing committees, each comprised of at least one (1) citizen from the Community and no more than (3) members of the council. The Council President shall serve as an ex officio member of each committee, provided however, that the Council President’s attendance does not institute a quorum of Council. Prior to Council action, standing committees share and review information, discern and discuss issues, and make recommendations on items within their brief.

Code Enforcement Committee
Chair: Carlette Brooks, Yeadon Borough Council | Email
Purpose: The purpose of the Code Enforcement Committee is for the citizens of this Borough to be actively involved in assisting Code Enforcement Officers to improve the safety, health and welfare of all citizens living in this Borough by way of reporting issues that affect our quality of life and/or providing recommendations to help improve same.
Meeting Schedule: The Code Committee will meet on the third Wednesday of each month starting at 6:00 pm. Community participation is encouraged.

Community Affairs Committee

Vice-Chair: Learin Johnson, Yeadon Borough Council Vice-President | Email
Purpose: The mission of the Community Relations Committee is to enhance relations, promote participation and encourage a two-way communication between residents and borough government. Responsibilities of this Committee will include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee borough’s website and social media content
- Research, gather information and provide recommendations for the use of emerging technology in the areas of constituent services, communication, public relations and marketing
- Identify and highlight positive borough and community news
- Promote beneficial community events amongst residents
- Assist other departments and committees in the implementation of special projects, programs, and events as needed.
Meeting Schedule: The Community Affairs Committee will meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month starting at 6:00 pm. Any community members that want to participate in such meetings may contact Community Relations Chairs or Borough Manager expressing interest.

Finance Committee

Purpose: The primary mission of the Finance Committee is to constantly seek more efficient operational standards and guide the borough government in managing its stewardship responsibility. This committee will be highly transparent and strive to minimize taxpayer burden through greater community input as well as fiscal and operational controls.

Public Safety Committee

Purpose: The Public Safety Committee’s objective is to cohesively manage all departments of Public Safety to prevent, protect and safeguard any and all threats that endangers the quality of Life of our Residents and Community.

Public Works Committee

Recreation Committee

Purpose: The purpose of the Recreation Committee is to set policies; advise on needed parks and recreation programs; plan, acquire and develop recreation facilities, parks and open areas to meet future needs as the Borough grows. The Recreation Committee strives to strengthen the community through an array of recreational opportunities while celebrating Yeadon’s history and natural setting to create a cohesive and vibrant community.
