beginning Monday, November 2nd, the pick-up times and locations for families to pick up the Grab-and-Go Breakfast and Lunch will be changed.
The hours for pick up will be 11:00am to 1:00pm. The pick-up days will remain the same (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). Instead of picking up meals for one day on Fridays, three days’ meals will be available on Fridays, allowing for students to have meals on Saturdays and Sundays as well.
There is a pick up location in each WPSD borough, including W.B. Evans Elementary School in Yeadon. Some previous locations will no longer be available based on the numbers of families picking up and the proximity to other pick up locations.
All families may pick up at any available location close to them.
The Yeadon Public Library is one of 32 drop box locations countywide where Delaware County residents can drop off their completed mail-in ballots for the 2020 general election. The box is located just outside the front door of the library.
Each of the 32 ballot drop boxes opened to accept ballots from Delaware County residents beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20.
Delaware County voters can use any ballot drop box in the county, in addition to the three ballot boxes located at the Voter Service Centers in Media, Upper Darby, and Chester.

Delaware Country registered voters are reminded that vote-by-mail applications (for both mail-in and absentee ballots) must be received by the Delaware County Bureau of Elections by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27.
With only one week remaining until the deadline, Delaware County voters who prefer to avoid voting in-person on election day are advised to request a mail-in or absentee ballot online. Registered voters can complete their application on the Pennsylvania Department of State website at www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/ or through the Delco Votes! election website at delcopa.gov/votebymail.
Voters can also submit a request to vote-by-mail by mailing or hand delivering a paper application to the Delaware County Bureau of Elections. Paper applications, in both English and Spanish, can be downloaded from the Delco Votes! website or picked up in-person from any of the Delaware County Voter Service Centers located in Media, Upper Darby, and Chester. Completed applications can be returned to the same location or sent by mail to the Delaware County Bureau of Elections (201 W. Front St., Media, PA 19063). Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27.

Voted ballots returned by mail must be submitted for delivery by November 3 by 8:00 p.m. and received by the County by November 6 at 5:00 p.m. Voted ballots that are returned to a ballot drop box or Voter Service Center must be submitted by November 3 by 8 p.m. Ballots must be completed in blue or black ink, be correctly returned using the inner security envelope, and properly signed and sealed to be counted.
Please note: Pennsylvania election law and the Delaware County Bureau of Elections protocols ensure that properly voted ballots will be counted. If a voter misplaces or believes that they never received their vote-by-mail ballot (mail-in or absentee), a voter can visit a Voter Service Center and request a new ballot. Voters can also go to their polling place on Election Day, speak to the precinct Judge of Elections, and cast a provisional ballot in-person. Their in-person ballot will be counted if their vote-by-mail ballot is not received by the County by the deadline. Voters who receive their vote-by-mail ballot and then change their mind and decide to vote in-person on Election Day can take their mail-in ballot to their polling place, have it voided, and then vote on-site.

Delaware Country has launched a new voter awareness campaign called Don’t Vote Naked!
The campaign is aimed at reducing the number of ballots that will be disqualified if a voter doesn’t properly place their voted mail-in or absentee ballot in both envelopes that are included with their official ballot materials.
All Pennsylvania mail-in and absentee ballots that are returned without being enclosed in the “secrecy” envelope will be disqualified, per State law. Such ballots are called “Naked Ballots,” and will not be counted.
Voters who want to make sure their vote is counted are reminded to carefully follow the vote-by-mail instructions enclosed with their ballot. Their completed ballot should first be placed in the smaller secrecy envelope marked “OFFICIAL ELECTION BALLOT”, which should then be sealed. The secrecy envelope containing their completed ballot is then placed in the larger return envelope marked “VOTER’S DECLARATION” and then signed, dated and sealed.
Voters can return* their completed ballot via the US Post Office (the return envelope is postage-paid); at a Delaware County Voter Service Center in Media, Upper Darby, or Chester; or at any one of the official ballot drop boxes located around the county. Locations and hours of the Ballot Boxes will be released soon.

*Voters should be aware that, per Pennsylvania state law, the third-party return of ballots is prohibited unless the person returning the ballot is rendering assistance to a disabled voter or an emergency absentee voter. Such assistance requires a declaration signed by the voter and the person rendering assistance. Copies of this form can be found at delcopa.gov/vote

The Chester County Health Department has issued guidance for Halloween activities this year. Residents can find some fun ways to celebrate Halloween this year that also keep little trick or treaters safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Delaware County Council, in partnership with Delaware County Department of Parks and Recreation, and Visit Delco, PA is excited to announce Drive-In Movie Weekend this fall. Residents can enjoy a family-friendly movie in the safety and comfort of their vehicle on October 9, 10 and 11 in Rose Tree Park.
Residents are invited to bring their own food and drinks and tune in to an FM radio station in their car as they watch the movie on the big screen located in the middle of the park. Bathrooms will be open for use.
This is a fun and safe activity for residents of all age. We’re excited to offer our residents a fun night out while still keeping them safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a chance for families to enjoy time together and also continue to stay safe!
