Hearing the Call Offers Hearing Resources to Eligible Residents

One in five Americans suffers from hearing loss to an extent that interferes with communication.

Hearing the Call is a nonprofit campaign bringing hope and healing to the hearing-impaired. Through quality healthcare, the organization helps people connect with family, education, and opportunities.

Hearing Aid Clinic Community Event – November 13, 2021.

Hearing the Call Delaware Valley is the non-profit affiliate of PA Center for Hearing and Balance, whose mission is to provide quality hearing healthcare and hearing aids to those in our community who cannot afford it. New hearing aids and related services are provided for a small co-pay for those who qualify.

Important Details
Recipients must complete an application by October 15th, 2021. For an application to be e-mailed or mailed please call 610-438-5203. The application can also be downloaded here.

Traffic Alert: Baily Road and Church Lane Area

Due to emergency sanitary sewer repairs, Baily Road off of Church Lane will experience delays.

Large tractor trailers will be redirected to Industrial Park. Baily Road between Orchard Avenue and Industrial Park will be closed. Please plan accordingly. Thank you for your cooperation.

Traffic Alert: Storm Sewer Maintenance Work on Yeadon Avenue and Church Lane

During the weeks of September 20 – October 1, the Borough’s storm sewer maintenance contractor will be doing inlet repairs in two locations:
Yeadon Avenue in the vicinity of Guenther Ave, and in the vicinity of 811 and 816 Church Lane.

Traffic controls will be in place and traffic may be detoured or restricted to one lane while the work is done. The contractor will work with local residents to accommodate entry and exit from homes. Please contact the borough if you have any questions.

Trash Collection Reminders

Twice-a-week trash collection ended on August 31, and once-a-week collection will resume accordingly.

Also, in observance of Labor Day, trash will not be collected on Monday, September 6th, and will be collected on Tuesday, September 7th instead.

Yeadon Police Department Accepting Applications for Part-Time Officer Position

Yeadon Police Department is now accepting applications for a part-time police officer.

General Qualifications for a Police Officer

1. Diploma from an accredited high school or graduate equivalency diploma (GED);
2. Valid Driver’s License;
3. Successful completion of Pennsylvania Act 120 Training; eligible for immediate Act 120 certification upon hire;
4. United States Citizen;
5. Physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer, with or without reasonable accommodation; and
6. Applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
