Heat Advisory In Effect: Stay Hydrated, Cool, and Keep Safe

A Heat Advisory is in effect through Saturday. Today through Saturday temperatures are expected to be in the 90s with the heat index making it feel close to 100 degrees.

Delaware County reminds residents to stay hydrated with non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated drinks such as water, juice, and sports drinks; wear light-colored and loose-fitting clothing; and find shaded areas to get relief if you are outside for extended periods of time.

Please check in on elderly loved ones and neighbors and those at risk. Remember to not leave pets outside for long periods of time or in the car.

A 24-hour Emergency Heat Information Line is now active through the summer. Delaware County residents can call 610-872-1558. The information line will provide weekly heat safety tips and reminders, emergency information, and locations where people can seek relief from the heat.

Cooling fans are available for older residents in need. Please contact COSA at 610-490-1300.
