State Rep. Joanna McClinton is hosting a Back-to-School Resource Fair for residents of Yeadon and Darby on Thursday, September 10. The free, drive-through event takes place 4 to 6 pm at Darby Recreation Center, 1022 Ridge Avenue, Darby PA 19023.
Due to a fire in the borough, not all trash collection was picked up on Wednesday, September 9. If your trash was not picked up, please leave cans out and they will be picked up on Thursday, September 10.
Delaware County’s Annual Remembrance Day Ceremony will be streamed online on Friday, September 11, at 9:00 am.

Strong African American Families (SAAF) is an interactive and educational program designed to strengthen positive family interactions. SAAF offers a unique approach for youth and family caregivers to build family strength, enhance family and racial pride, and understand risk and protective factors for African-American youth in reducing risky behavior, including alcohol and drug abuse.
The seven-week program takes place online via Zoom and begins September 23 from 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM, with subsequent sessions weekly through November 4.

The Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is offering FREE eye screenings for children in Delaware County age 2 through 6. Parents or Legal Guardians can call Candy Bantum at 610-874-1476 Ext 125 to schedule an appointment to come to the Center for the Blind and Visually impaired to have their child’s vision screening done.
The Electronic Waste Collection event scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2020, at the Yeadon Public Works Garage has been canceled.
Health Partners Foundation and gave away 10,000 pounds of fresh groceries and produce during a Fresh Food for Families Free Food Distribution Event held in the Church Lane municipal lot on July 29. Yeadon Mayor Rohan Hepkins and Representative Joanna McClinton were among those participating.
