What is LIHEAP?
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides financial assistance to eligible low-income households to help cover the cost of heating and cooling their homes. The program aims to reduce the risk of health and safety problems associated with unsafe heating and cooling practices.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for LIHEAP assistance, you must:
- Be a resident of Pennsylvania.
- Meet income guidelines based on your household size.
- Provide documentation of household income for the past 30 days.
- Show proof of identification and residency.
- Provide a copy of your most recent utility bill.

- For households with more than 5 members, add $8,070 for each additional member.
How to Apply
- Gather Required Documents:
- Proof of income (pay stubs, benefit letters)
- Proof of residency (lease, utility bill)
- Valid photo ID
- Complete the Application:

- Download the application form and mail it to: LIHEAP, P.O. Box 444, York, PA 17405-0444.
- Visit a local LIHEAP office for in-person assistance.
- Submit Your Application:
- Online: Upload your documents directly to the website.
- By Mail: Send completed application and copies of documents to LIHEAP, P.O. Box 444, York, PA 17405-0444.
- In-Person: Drop off your application at a local County Assistance Office.
Application Deadline: All applications must be submitted by April 15, 2025.
