PA Department of Health Resumes COVID-19 Related Services to Delaware County

COVID-19 Update

Beginning August 1, the Pennsylvania Department of Health resumed COVID-19 related services for residents of Delaware County.

These services include case investigation and surveillance, data reporting, testing and vaccination oversight, public health communications, official guidance (e.g., masking, social distancing) and assistance to residents who have questions and concerns relating to COVID-19.

Also effective August 1, Delaware County will operate a single fixed-site vaccination clinic — at our Delaware County Wellness Center in Yeadon. Walk-ins are welcome. Go to the Delcopa.gov Vaccinations page for dates and times.

For the past 16 months, the Chester County Health Department has provided these COVID-19 related services and guidance for residents of Delaware County. This temporary intergovernmental cooperation agreement between Delaware County and Chester County Health Department — which started in March 2020, a few weeks after the first COVID-19 case in the state was reported in Delaware County — was due to the fact that Delaware County remains without a public health department (until January 2022). This intergovernmental cooperation agreement between Chester County and Delaware County will end on August 1.
