Borough of Yeadon Zoning Hearing Board

Notice is hereby given that William Penn School District, applicant & owner, appealed to the Borough of Yeadon Zoning Hearing Board bearing appeal 24-02, requesting the following zoning relief to permit an addition to an existing public school use.

A full copy of the applications and plans/renderings associated with the above hearing is available for inspection and copying by the public at borough all located at 600 Church Lane, Yeadon, Pennsylvania, during business hours between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM

The board will hear this appeal at its meeting on Thursday, January 23, 2025
starting at 7:30 PM

Planning Commission Seeks Yeadon Resident to Serve as Member

Deadline to Apply: January 15, 2025

The Borough of Yeadon is seeking one committed individual to join our newly revived Planning Commission.

Candidates must be residents of Yeadon and possess some knowledge of the Borough. Interested applicants should send their resume and a letter of interest to info@yeadonborough.com by Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

Snow removal

Reminder: Guidelines for Snow and Ice Removal

With winter weather upon us, the Borough of Yeadon would like to remind residents of the need for removal of snow and ice from exterior property areas as outlined in Borough Code.

Please see the ordinance below for complete details:

Ordinance 220-16, O: Exterior Property Areas

Snow and ice removal

  • All owners of buildings or land shall be responsible for the removal of any snow and ice as follows:
  • The owner of any property that abuts any sidewalks on a public highway or common alley shall remove all snow from such sidewalks within 24 hours after the final snowfall.
  • Snow shall be removed from all sidewalks and walking surface to provide a pathway of at least 36 inches.
  • The owner of any property that abuts any sidewalks on a public highway or common alley shall not permit ice, upon which it is dangerous to travel, to remain on such sidewalk.
  • No owner shall permit snow or ice to conceal any fire hydrant, or other fire department connections located on their property.
  • No owner shall permit snow or ice to remain on any fire department access road located on their property.
  • No person shall shovel, plow or move snow out into the public way after it has been plowed, moved or removed, unless authorized by the Borough.

A rain or shine event

Come out and securely dump the old paper clutter and step into 2025 with the help of YEDC and DocuVault. The YEDC will be working with DocuVault shredding all types of paper documents. Please clean out the items you want shredded.

PLEASE NO TRASH and NO ELECTRONICS!

So, on Jan 11th between the hours of 9 AM and noon, drive up, hand your items to be shredded to the YEDC volunteers and drive off. It’s just that simple!

Helping Families Stay Warm This Winter

What is LIHEAP?
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides financial assistance to eligible low-income households to help cover the cost of heating and cooling their homes. The program aims to reduce the risk of health and safety problems associated with unsafe heating and cooling practices.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for LIHEAP assistance, you must:

  • Be a resident of Pennsylvania.
  • Meet income guidelines based on your household size.
  • Provide documentation of household income for the past 30 days.
  • Show proof of identification and residency.
  • Provide a copy of your most recent utility bill.
  • Income Guidelines
  • For households with more than 5 members, add $8,070 for each additional member.

How to Apply

  • Gather Required Documents:
    • Proof of income (pay stubs, benefit letters)
    • Proof of residency (lease, utility bill)
    • Valid photo ID
  • Complete the Application:
    • Visit our website at www.compass.state.pa.us to apply online.
    • Download the application form and mail it to: LIHEAP, P.O. Box 444, York, PA 17405-0444.
    • Visit a local LIHEAP office for in-person assistance.
  • Submit Your Application:
    • Online: Upload your documents directly to the website.
    • By Mail: Send completed application and copies of documents to LIHEAP, P.O. Box 444, York, PA 17405-0444.
    • In-Person: Drop off your application at a local County Assistance Office.

Application Deadline: All applications must be submitted by April 15, 2025.
