Homestead Exclusion Program

Deadline to Apply for Homestead Exclusion Tax Relief is March 1st

Delaware County Council and the County Treasurer present information on the Homestead Exclusion Program so all eligible residents can take advantage of this property tax relief.

The deadline to apply for the Homestead Exclusion Program is March 1.

This program provides school property tax relief for eligible homeowners.

Who is eligible?

  • Homeowners who live in their property as their primary, permanent residence may qualify.

Check your eligibility status

Residents can search their property and view their current Homestead status through the Delaware County Real Estate Tax System, available on the Delaware County website. Use the “Search by Address” feature and look for: “Homestead Status – Current and Next School Bill Cycle.”

You may also review the example below highlighting where to find your Homestead Reduction, if eligible.

Because we are close to the application deadline, residents are encouraged to apply in person at the county office to ensure timely processing.

Parking Restrictions Lifted

Parking Restrictions Waived Through Friday, February 20

UPDATED 2/13/2026:

Due to continued inclement conditions and accumulated snow on roadways, restrictions on parking during certain hours will remain lifted through Friday, February 27, 2026.

During this time, the usual requirements to move vehicles on specific days and during certain hours are suspended. Residents will not be required to move their vehicles for scheduled parking restrictions while this temporary suspension is in effect.

Yeadon Public Library Celebrates Black History Month

The Friends of Yeadon Public Library and Yeadon Public Library invite you to celebrate Black History Month at two very special upcoming events.

On Saturday, February 21, the Library will host a special celebration with presentations by Michelle Thornhill, Cultural Historian & Preservation Advocate and Netfah Amina-Afia, Wraptologist and Holistic Designer. On Tuesday, February 24, Dr. Daisy Century presents her portrayal of Harriet Tubman. Dr. Century defines her role as a Historical Interpreter because she literally becomes the character she portrays.

Snow Emergency Declared in Yeadon – Latest Updates

BOROUGH HALL OPENING TWO HOURS LATE

Regular Monday trash pickup will take place on Tuesday, 1/27. Tuesday’s regular trash pickup will remain in place.

 


BOROUGH HALL CLOSED MONDAY, JANUARY 26

Essential employees will remain available.


The Mayor has declared a Snow Emergency for the Borough due to the pending forecast of a major snowstorm expected to impact our area. This declaration will remain in effect until it is officially lifted.

Snow Emergency Regulations

Pursuant to Borough Code, during the continuance of a Snow Emergency, the following regulations are strictly enforced: https://ecode360.com/11892083

Parking Restrictions

No person shall park a motor vehicle or allow a vehicle to remain parked at any time on any designated Snow Emergency Route as identified in § 285-83. https://ecode360.com/11892087

Driving Restrictions

No person shall drive a motor vehicle on any designated Snow Emergency Route as identified in § 285-82, unless the vehicle is equipped with snow tires or chains. https://ecode360.com/11892086

Municipal Parking Availability

The Guenther and Myra municipal parking lots may be utilized for vehicles that need to be moved during the Snow Emergency.

Temporary Suspension of Certain Parking Restrictions

Please be advised that, due to the anticipated storm, parking restrictions for “Parking Prohibited Certain Hours” will be temporarily lifted for next week only, from Monday, January 26, 2026 through Friday, January 30, 2026

During this time, the usual requirements to move vehicles on specific days and during certain hours will be suspended. Residents will not be required to move their vehicles for scheduled parking restrictions while this temporary suspension is in effect.

Enforcement Still Applies

Please note that illegally parked vehicles will still be subject to enforcement, including but not limited to vehicles:

  • Blocking fire hydrants
  • Blocking driveways or intersections
  • Parked against traffic
  • Obstructing emergency access
  • Or otherwise violating public safety regulations

Vehicles in violation may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense.

Residents are encouraged to limit travel when possible, use caution if travel is necessary, and comply with all posted signage and directions from Borough officials.

Updates will be provided as conditions change and when the Snow Emergency is lifted.
