Union Avenue Detour Begins May 14 for SEPTA Crossing Upgrade
Work will continue around-the-clock through Monday, May 17
Beginning Friday, May 14, 2021 at 9:00 AM, Union Avenue will be closed to all vehicular traffic at the intersection of the SEPTA Railroad tracks.
SEPTA’s in-house forces will be renewing the existing grade crossing. The new crossing will create a much smoother ride for motorists.
The following detour will be in effect 24/7 until the work is complete. All traffic lanes will open on or before Monday, May 17, 2021 at 6:00 PM.
- Union Avenue northbound traffic will be detoured at Union Avenue onto Fairview Avenue; west on Fairview Avenue to Lansdowne Avenue; north on Lansdowne Avenue to Baltimore Avenue; east on Baltimore Avenue to end at Union Avenue.
- Westbound Baltimore Avenue to southbound Union Avenue traffic will be detoured at Baltimore Avenue; west on Baltimore Avenue to Lansdowne Avenue; south on Lansdowne Avenue to Fairview Avenue; east on Fairview Avenue to end at Union Avenue.
- Eastbound Baltimore Avenue to southbound Union Avenue traffic will be detoured at Lansdowne Avenue; south on Lansdowne Avenue to Fairview Avenue; east on Fairview Avenue to end at Union Avenue.
