Yeadon Police Announce “Chief for a Day” Contest for WPSD Students

Students of the William Penn School District are invited to take part in Yeadon Police Chief Anthony Paparo’s Police Chief for a Day contest.

The top three (3) pictures posted will win a day with Chief Paparo learning about what it takes to be Chief of Police. Winners will be contacted with a reply to their post, so watch closely to see if you have won. Contest is open to all students of the William Penn School District. Contest starts on March 21, 2019. Contest will end on April 21, 2019 with winners announced April 22, 2019. The winners will come to work on National Take Your Kid to Work Day, Thursday, April 25, 2019 to celebrate this positive national initiative (unless your parent is taking you to work, then we will set up another day!).

Winners will receive a Yeadon Police T-Shirt, patches, and lunch with the Chief, as well other prizes for their efforts. So get out there, do something positive and take a pic to show it, and/or get a pic with an Officer, and then post it to one of our pages. You might just have what it takes to be Chief of Police for a day.

Yeadon Public Library Presents Spotlight on the Spectrum Program

The Spotlight on The Spectrum program serves as a peer group for children with developmental delays or sensory issues (Autism, Asperger’s and ADHD) and their parents, care takes and relatives. Please join us in the Yeadon Public Library community room, on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 7:00 pm.

Spotlight on The Spectrum is a community grass roots program aimed to bring awareness to various forms of developmental delays or sensory issues (Autism, Asperger’s and ADHD). Spotlight on The Spectrum is designed to provide hope, inspiration, resources and education to parents, children and loved ones living with autism. Operation House Call: A Message from the Chief of Police

Hey Yeadon Residents! Who remembers back in the day when you could call the doctor and he/she came to your home and made you feel better?

Well, I’m not a doctor, but I have an idea. I call it Operation House Call. Here’s what I’m thinking. Too often the only time people have contact with police it’s negative; because they are in trouble, are having a problem that they need our intervention with to help, or they may be a victim of a crime or accident.

So here’s what I’m offering you – the residents of this town that I call home too: Instead of coffee with a cop where you have to come to me, how about I make a house-call to you when you want to voice a concern, get to meet me or say hello, have a question about police, or even think you might want to do a ride-a-long with me?

I am frequently on patrol, so why not give you access to your department that you might not be used to. So if you just want to talk, have a question, have a concern, are interested in a ride-a-long, anything, I want you to have a positive experience with us.

On those days that I am available, because I do take off every now and then (LOL), I will post that Operation House Call is in effect. Once you see that post, send me a private message with your address or phone, a good time to stop by, and I will respond back as soon as I get it, and stop by to meet you! Let’s do something positive together, because I truly believe that together we can do great and positive things.

What do you think Yeadonites, are you ready for a House Call?
