Welcome to Medicare: A Free Virtual Fair – Wednesday, June 23

Learn about signing up for Medicare! This national fair is for people turning 65, retiring, or joining Medicare because of a disability.

Wednesday, June 23 – 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

There is no cost to attend. This event is made possible through a grant from the federal government.

Anyone who registers can attend all or part of this online event. You will need a computer or mobile device to participate.

Get trusted, unbiased Medicare education from the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) national network. There will be expert SHIP presenters on Medicare eligibility, enrollment, costs, and coverage options (agenda is below).

Visit virtual exhibits and chat with a SHIP about your individual questions. In your state, SHIP services may be provided under another name, such as CHOICES, HIICAP, SHINE, Senior Linkage Line, or an Area Agency on Aging. Regardless of the name, all SHIPs nationally are federally funded to provide local, trusted, and unbiased Medicare Help.

Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (CPACE) Offers Financing Opportunities for Property Owners

Delaware County Council has unanimously voted to approve a resolution to implement Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE).
Council members approved C-PACE to help owners of commercial property with energy and water conservation projects. This program will also allow Delaware County property owners to access long-term loans to pay for renewable energy systems, energy efficient equipment, and fixtures that reduce water consumption.

Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) is a financing tool that enables building owners to obtain low-cost, long-term financing for energy efficiency, water conservation, and renewable energy projects. Benefits of financing through C-PACE include up to 100% financing and terms of up to 30 years to match project payback periods.

C-PACE allows building owners to:
• Take control of energy costs to save money and increase their bottom line
• Invest in upgrades that improve your building, making your facility more enjoyable and attractive for you, your employees, tenants, or customers
• Finance 100% of green energy upgrades determined by you and your consultant

Meeting Update

Borough Council Meeting Summer Schedule: No Caucus Meetings June, July, August

Yeadon Borough Council will not hold its monthly caucus meeting, normally held on the second Thursday of the month, during the months of June, July and August.

Borough Council will continue to hold its regular legislative meetings each week on the third Thursday of the month through the summer, on June 17, July 15, and August 19.

Information about participating in these meetings via Zoom will be provided ahead of each meeting. Please check back for updates.

This special event hosted by The Foundation for Delaware County’s Healthy Start and Nurse-Family Partnership programs, and in partnership with Chester Housing Authority, Daddy University and other partners is a great opportunity to bring together dads, advocates, and others interested in growing “the village” for fathers in our community. Get into the Fatherhood Game by joining the conversation, hearing from other dads and advocates in our region working to make sure that new fathers are getting what they need in Delaware County. 2021 Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program

Providing eligible Delaware County seniors with fresh fruits and vegetables from local Farmers Markets!

Eligibility for $24 worth of vouchers per person

Must be 60 years of age and older and a resident of Delaware County

Income Guidelines: $23,828 for 1 in a household; $32,227 for 2 in a household.

How To Apply: June 1—September 30, 2021

IN PERSON:
Some sites will provide in-person distribution following all CDC safety guidelines. Please contact your local senior center for distribution days/times and to make an appointment.

BY MAIL:
A Voucher application must be completed to receive the vouchers. Once the application is received and approved, vouchers will be mailed to the
recipient. **A self-addressed stamped envelope should be returned with the completed Voucher application. Voucher applications will be distributed upon request only and can be sent by mail or email to eligible individuals.

Weekly Vaccine Clinic Schedule: June 7 – June 13

Pfizer and Moderna Offered in Yeadon

In Yeadon, the Pfizer vaccine – eligible for those ages 12 and up – will be administered at the Delaware County Wellness Center, 125 Chester Avenue, between 3 pm and 7 pm on Thursday, June 10. Learn more

On June 8, 12, and 13, the Moderna vaccine will be offered at the Wellness Center. Learn more

Walk-ins are welcome. No ID or Health Insurance Required.

Weekly Clinics at 69th St. Terminal

Each Thursday, from 3 to 7 pm, the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be administered for free to all eligible recipients in the Great Hall (main lobby) of the terminal. Learn more at delcopa.gov/vax/.

Program Also Vaccinates Homebound Individuals

Individuals can call the Delaware County COVID-19 Call Center at (484) 276-2100, or by email covid19resources.co.delaware.pa.us, to add themselves or a homebound loved one, friend or neighbor to the “Homebound Roster” for an on-site at-home vaccination. Information needed includes the name of the person to be vaccinated, a phone number, zip code, and an email if applicable.
