A Day of Thanks: Pick Up A Platter – Free Dinners Available Monday through Wednesday
Men of Action Brothers of Faith will conduct its A Day of Thanks event as a “Pickup A Platter” event due to COVID. Delicious platters with all of the fixins will be available at locations in Upper Darby (11/25), Yeadon (11/24), and Darby (11/23) on separate days Monday through Wednesday, 4:00 through 7:00 pm. Trash Collection Could be Affected by Closure of Delaware County Transfer Station
Please be advised that Yeadon Borough’s trash pickup schedule may be impacted due to the temporary closure of the Delaware County Waste Authority Transfer Station #3 in Marple Township due to COVID-19. Yeadon Public Library Updates: New Online Programs for Seniors; Modified Services During Library Closure
The Yeadon Public Library is pleased to announce the first two online programs for seniors (age 60 and over) being offered in collaboration with the County of Delaware Services for the Aging (COSA):
Chronic Pain Self-Management: Online Program for Seniors
Mondays 9:30 AM to Noon from November 16th through December 21st
WISE: Wellness Initiative for Senior Education Online Program
Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. from November 17th through December 22nd

The interior of the Library remains closed to patrons at this time.
However, we are offering curbside service to our patrons for books, cds, dvds, etc. Requests will be taken online at http://www.yeadonlibrary.org/public-library-make-a-request, via phone 610-623-4090 or email us at yeadon@delcolibraries.org.
You will receive a phone call from the library when your order is ready. When you arrive, please call and a staff member will place your items on a table outside the front entrance of the library for you.
You may also return any materials you have in our drop box. All materials will be quarantine for 96 hours and then checked in. No fines will be accessed to your account.
Hours for pick up are:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Wednesday: 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Saturday: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Printouts: Do you need something printed? You can send your documents to yeadon@delcolibraries.org. Please include all your contact information and we will notify you when documents are available. Black & white prints are 15¢ per page & color 25¢.

Additionally, Gateway Health will be on-site to provide free COVID-19 testing to individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis. Support Local Food Pantries at Drive Thru Food Drive Events
SUPPORT YOUR COMMUNITY DURING COVID-19!
Delaware County Department of Human Services, in conjunction with Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon and Rep. Steve Barrar present a series of contactless food drives.
People are to drive through the parking lot, and volunteers will take items from their trunks to trucks for the pantries.
Items needed include: dry food goods, peanut butter, canned meats & tuna, stews, rice, beans, soups, cereal, & items that cannot be purchased with SNAP benefits – paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, toothpaste, deodorant, bar soap for bathing, baby diapers & wipes, formula, hand sanitizer, & cleaning wipes.
Food will be donated to Delco food pantries.

Yeadon Avenue Closed Between Redwood Avenue and Baily Road for Sewer Work
Beginning Monday, November 9th, Yeadon Avenue will be closed between Redwood Avenue and Baily Road to continue sanitary sewer repairs. All traffic southbound Yeadon Avenue will be detoured east on Gunther Avenue to Church Lane and all other roads northbound Yeadon Avenue. Westbound Cedar Avenue and Redwood Avenue will be closed to all traffic during the day. Yeadon Avenue between Redwood and Baily Road will be closed until project has been completed.
Virtual Workshop for Parents: Supporting Students’ Social and Emotional Growth
The William Penn School District is sponsoring a virtual Parent/Guardian workshop presented by national award-winning teacher and speaker R. Keeth Matheny.
The workshop will provide information on why social and emotional Learning is so important for young people, and how parents can support students’ emotional health.
The workshop is being offered on Tuesday, November 10th and Thursday, November 12th from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Parents/Guardians are invited to attend one of the two sessions. The workshop is free but pre-registration is required.
