Public Works Reminder: No Wipes in the Pipes

No matter what the package says, “flushable” wipes can cause an undue burden on our sewer system. Along with the increased use of disinfecting wipes, the presence of these items in our wastewater can cause serious problems with our infrastructure.

Please be mindful and do not flush these products:

• “Flushable” wipes
• Disinfecting and cleaning wipes
• Sanitary products
• Tissues
• Paper towels
• Napkins
• Cardboard and paper products
• Fabrics

County Holds Press Conference on COVID-19, Business Updates

Delaware County Council will hold a press conference on Monday, May 4 at 10 am to discuss the timeline for reopening, including the challenges and what has been done and what needs to be done in order to safely reopen businesses in Delaware County.

Deadline for County Real Estate Tax Payments Extended

During its April 22 public meeting, Delaware County Council voted to extend the deadline for the standard payment collection of County Real Estate Tax bills from June 1, 2020 to September 30, 2020.

As a reminder: During the March 18 public meeting, Delaware County Council voted to extend the deadline to qualify for a discount for the payment of County property taxes. The new deadline has been extended to April 30, 2020.

Note: this extension only pertains to County taxes.
