SEPTA Construction: Chester Avenue Detours

UPDATE:  SEPTA Construction will end on 8/11/23.

SEPTA will be renewing the track-work along Chester Avenue, serving the Route 13 Trolley Line, in the Spring of 2023.

The proposed dates for construction will be from Tuesday, May 30, 2023 through Sunday, July 30, 2023.  SEPTA is planning to close the road on or about 7:00 AM, Tuesday and reopen it on or about 7:00 AM, Sunday. SEPTA is planning to begin at Bullock Avenue and work through the intersection at Church Lane, completing this phase first and reopening the intersection as soon as we clear it, estimating one week for this phase; then we will progress east down Chester Avenue towards 65th Street.

A detour will be established to move traffic around the area. Additionally, a truck detour will also be established for Phase 1 of the project. This detour will use PennDOT State roads (MacDade Blvd. and Main Street.), through Darby Borough. If you or your colleagues wish to discuss project details, I invite you to contact me and we can arrange to meet with you and discuss.
