Citizens Police Academy

Participants Wanted for Second Annual Citizens Police Academy

Yeadon Police Department proudly presents the Second Annual Citizens Police Academy beginning March 4, 2020 and ending with a graduation on April 16, 2020. Classes will be held at Yeadon Borough Hall, every Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The academy is free, and class size is limited to 20 residents of Yeadon. Applications from outside jurisdictions will be accepted on an available seating basis.

The Yeadon Citizens Police Academy will create a challenging atmosphere, and provide residents/cadets with an inside look at what it takes to be a police officer. This program will create confidence, self-discipline, physical security and fitness awareness, and foster team-building mindsets, while bringing you into the world of policing. Instructors are police officers with a strong desire to open lines of communication with those we swear to protect and serve, to create positive police and public interactions, so that a deeper understanding of policing can serve to foster a stronger bond with citizens and their police officers.

Applications must be submitted by Monday, February 18, 2019 for consideration. Hard copies are available at Yeadon Police HQ. Once registered, you will be notified of your approval for the course, a week prior to the class start date.

YPD Full Time Police Officer Position

Employment Opportunity: Full-Time Police Officer

The Borough of Yeadon is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Applications can be obtained from the Yeadon Borough Police Department located on the first floor of the Yeadon Municipal Building or downloaded here. The applications will be available from 12:00 noon Friday, October 4, 2019 through 4:30 pm Friday, November 8, 2019, during regular business hours Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm or online until applications are due to be returned.

All completed applications must be returned in person no later than 4:30 pm Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Yeadon Borough Police Department.

Yeadon Police Host National Day of Reconciliation Event

Yeadon Police Chief Anthony Paparo invites residents to take part in the National Day of Reconciliation on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. The event is a day of communication and healing between police and people of color in the United States. Locally, the Yeadon event takes place from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Yeadon Borough Hall and will feature community members watching a healing film (Walking While Black: L.O.V.E. is the Answer) and having healing discussions.

This event is free, and seating is limited. Registration is required.

Be part of the change, be part of a new direction for police and community members to rebuild trust, change hearts, restore faith, and heal one another.

Yeadon Police Host Second Annual Youth Police Academy

Yeadon Police proudly announces its Second Annual Youth Police Academy. The program will run eight weeks, beginning October 2, 2019 ending with a graduation during the borough council meeting on Thursday, November 21, 2019.

Youth Police Academy Classes will be held at Yeadon Borough Hall, every Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm unless otherwise noted in the schedule. The academy is free, and class size is limited to 12 high school (grades 9-12) students residing in the William Penn School District. The application can be found here.
